Our Journey

From Local Workshop to European Leader

Kiln Pro Terra began in 2008 when founder ceramicist Maria van der Berg recognised the need for more reliable, user-friendly kilns in the European market. Working from a small Rotterdam workshop, she partnered with engineering experts to develop kilns that combined artistic sensitivity with technical precision.

Our breakthrough came with the development of our signature temperature control system, which offered unprecedented accuracy for delicate ceramic work. Word spread through the ceramic community, and soon we were installing kilns in studios across the Netherlands, then throughout Europe.

Today, we serve over 200 ceramic studios, art schools, and independent artists across the EU. Our Rotterdam facility houses our design team, technical support centre, and training workshops. Every kiln is still built to the exacting standards Maria established, ensuring each customer receives equipment worthy of their artistic vision.
